A long time ago (fiveish years), in a performance space far, far away (Bloomington counts, right?), we brought you the first ever Die Laughing comedy marathon.
Die Laughing has something for everyone, and this year will be bigger than ever! We are now accepting applications for performance slots. Last year, we ended up with so much interest in the event that we had a waiting list, which means now is as good a time as any to get those ideas ready to pitch!
Not a performer? Well, someone has to run the event! If you’re passionate about volunteering AND the theater community, this could be your time to shine.
Not crazy about either? Perfect, because you might take one of the most important roles in the whole production: enthusiastic audience member. We have acts for everyone, from kids to adults, to adult kids. We have hosted standup comedians, improvisers, musical acts, table reads, lip sync battles, joke offs, and everything in between.
Die Laughing is our largest fundraising event of the year, and that is good for us and bad for us. Did you see the challenges you could purchase for performers at Die Laughing 4? We had gross cupcakes, the classic Kendo Stick, the blender challenge, and new to the stage was the Lego Walk, a several-feet-long carpeted path of pointy plastic destruction. Mark your calendars, because it’s all happening this April, from the 6th to the 8th for fifty hours straight.
